No ticket so no problems on your MVR.

Did he write up a 'DOT Inspection' form? In other words did he perfom a Level x inspection like Level 4 driver only or some such? These are the forms they submit to FMCSA database which puts a score on your carrier and shows violations on your PSP report. If the answer is No then there will be no problems on your PSP. If he performed a Level 3 or some Level inspection and wrote down CFR code numbers under the violation area and there is another area for Out of Service, these will carry points against the carrier and the OOS adds 2 additional points to the original violation(s).

If you dodged the first two then the only thing to worry about is the DAC (Hireright) Report which your carrier may document that you violated some company policy.

There are plenty of truck drivers who drink Off Duty or Sleeper but would never admit it here as the drivers signed up on TTR are strictly by the book type of drivers lol. Some drivers like to keep their red wine in a half gallon coffee thermos.

At my own company I read on the thread about a driver who came in for an oil change and the shop found an empty can of beer in his cup holder and still had 2/8ths of a 12 pack frosting in the trucker fridge.

I knew a guy who filled a gallon jug with gin, added blue food coloring, and kept it right in the side door in plain view.

This right here. You do have the right to refuse a search but all they have to say is the dog "alerted" them to something. Which usually is a bluff but gives the right to do anything they want.
