    Hi professional truckers,
I won a bid of a 2013 peterbilt 386 sleeper with 224 wheelbase. I’m looking at using the truck for dry van or refer, can this truck pull any of these trailer?
I won the bid at $52500. Is this a good deal or did I pay too much to buy the truck?
Below is the link of the truck

    thanks

So you bought a truck, sight unseen and have no idea if it can handle the job you need it to do??????

I'm sure it'll do fine but boy that's a lot of money to spend on something you're not sure about.

Sure it can pull the trailers but it really is not set up for dry van or refer. What kind of fuel milage are you gonna get with that? Looks like it is more of a set up for flatbed to me.

Also with that many miles and hours do you know if it has been rebuilt? If not gonna be at least 20 to 30K a year to run it is my guess on fixing issues. No big deal if you had planned on it already. Price seems ok in this market but over priced compared to a year plus ago. Hopefully I am wrong and you can run for 100 plus K and have min issues.

    You’re a brave man.

Yes, it has the specs to pull general trailers - I assume it was pulling a flatbed.

Sight unseen - without oil samples, inspection, Rig Dig, driving test, it could be a stepping stone -

Or a pair of cement shoes.

For what it's worth I have a 2016 386 Pete and the best mileage I ever got with a box trailer was around 6mpg and I have a midroof. Which is a bit more aerodynamic than the lowroof you got. What model of Cummins does it have? I'm guessing a 2250?
