That's correct you don't know . Manual transmissions are headed out the door accept for niche and owner operators . The evidence and proof that fleets are moving to automatics is overwhelming. Sure manual maybe cheaper to fix for a guy with a 12 year old truck but not for an 800 truck fleet.
Afraid to drive again.

Not once did I say "Every Mega fleet was dropping Autos". I stated that some have. As long as they wanna train drivers fast and pay slave wages there will be autos. They are cheaper than you. Now with 22 years as a mechanic and 8 years as a owner OP driver I do know. In my short experience I have seen disc brakes come and go twice, led lights was a stupid fad, super singles was the new sliced bread, epa 09 engines were gonna have twice the life of pre 03, drivers wages are at a all time low, Arrow and Falcon couldnt fail, Volvo's are still twin screw Subaru's. Just saying to you I wouldnt bet on anything.Rubber duck kw Thanks this. -

Again, a manual trans is not only cheaper to repair, they are cheaper to operate with a skilled driver. You hang "meat in the seat" under trained driver at a low wage the auto is cheaper. How do you think they justify the added cost? It's not to make a driver happy. Why do you think US Express has so much interest in the Nikola truck? You take a piece of equipment that cost what? Three times a standard class 8 truck? How does a company justify that expense? Do you feel you will get a pay raise to operate one?
