So now I have a broken manifold stud causing an exhaust leak on my 3406E. I’ll have to get around to fixing that at some point which will probably involve pulling the manifold off. Are the aftermarket manifolds worth doing? I see they claim a fairly decent fuel mileage and power increase along with reduced exhaust temps. If they are worth the money then I may as well put one on while I have the stock one off anyway.

PDI, Bully Dog, and full tilt manifolds are all the same ... manufactured by full tilt. I threw a turbo on at the same time as new manifold. Before the pyro would climb past 1k and I'd drop a gear to get the temps down. Now it will not get above 900 on a pull. Dropped probably 150 degrees average when rolling loaded.

As for MPG ... with turbo and manifold I probably picked up better than a half.

I wouldn't buy and use the bully dog gaskets. Go with Cat.

Hoovers has a pretty good price if you call them up.

Absolutely. If you need a new one then get a bully dog. Make sure you replace all the studs and nuts also.

Deffinatlly a lot better manifold then stock.

If the studs breaking again is a concern, send them away for a cryogenic treatment. Place I use charges $6/lbs.

They take your bolts and cryogenically freeze them. It makes them way more robust and is a very good thing for head bolts.... I'm doing mine for my SDP cat rebuild right now as well as exhaust bolts.

I have think its a PDI I purchased apprx 4 years ago. Smooth flow and no issues with it or bolts. On a C-15 6nz. Fuel mileage not noticeable . Exhaust temp slightly lower.
