No wonder people look frightened when I drive by.

123 is too old. anything younger than that, it depends on your health. sleep apnea, diabetes, and high blood pressure are the biggies that i know of.

Not all gray, yet. Still have a good portion of the "original paint" left.

Don't have diabetes or hbp. The sleep apnea thing has me a little nervous. Never been tested, but dad has it. I do snore when I'm over tired, but not always.

from what i understand, in regard to sleep apnea, whether or not you must be tested depends on your bmi. and people CAN have sleep apnea and drive truck. i know of many that have (sleep) machines to help with the condition. (called cpap?)

the 123 was of course a joke, but as many here have said, there are new drivers every day that graduate a trucking school well into their 60s. i wouldnt let age stop me if trucking was really something i wanted...there are many companies out there that will hire someone with.... "life experience".

If you can pass the DOT physical, you are OK at any age. Work on the blood pressure and sugar level before taking the physical.

Never had a problem with bp or sugar. Don't even have to study for that test. :biggrin_25525:

I was hired on at 29 with an LTL carrier. Everyone told me I was the youngest one yet since they usually only hire people in their mid thirties. As others said, 21+ is interstate, and below that is intrastate. Most companies like 23 and above for insurance reasons I assume.
