Great lakes freighter horn. It vibrates your insides. Beer moves in your cup. Would classify as a full trailer load. Would be great on a truck.

Might be a better investment to spring for some new paint.

Extreme Polishing & Detailing in Elizabethtown, KY would repaint it and do a good job. Was thinking about taking mine up there for new paint job.

You think DOT is more interested in correctly functioning air horns or missing paint?

Post up a picture of your 379 here and I’ll have a quick look and tell you what to spend money on.

Lol.. to be sure Blair I can't speak for him but I wasn't knocking your rig. My KW could have used a good paint job and so could this FL I have now. Couldn't help but notice some of the clear looks like it was gone. Temporarily if you wanted to you could polish that out and it would look great without spending on a paint job. That place in E-town is legit tho. Check out some of their work on FB.

It’s been mentioned before about the paint - on the front of the sleeper. The cab doors are faded, but the rest of it is still pretty good.

I’m not on FB - dumped it last year.

Air horns really need replaced though, weak after 26 years.

How much do they typically charge?

Blair’s truck looks a helluva lot better in person that that one photo.

Mine on the other hand. Once I brought it from the dryer air of California into the humidity of this part of the world the already peeling clear coat just ballooned up. I’m looking for a good place to take it once I feel like the savings acct can handle it. I’m not there yet... but I am looking...

Depends if you need bodywork as well. Plan on your truck being down for a good 3 weeks for a full paint job to be done right

Humidity isn't why your clear peeled up. It peeled up because it's a bad paint job. I bought a brand new Dodge Ram in 2006 and have probably washed that truck a half dozen times since I've bought it and waxed it once. It has sat in direct sunlight and weather, Tennessee humidity for all of its life and the clear coat is not peeling. You'll need to go see them and tell them what you want and they'll tell you what it cost.
