Aldis - good, bad, pitfalls?

ive been to several aldi's in the Midwest and east coast, all of them were very cooperative getting you a pallet jack or forklift because most were under staffed with lumpers. No worries all the equipment was in good shape too.

 

I use to frequent Aldi's. I think the ones were in OH, IN and MI? I can visualize the buildings but forget the towns, lol. Alzheimers setting in.

I never had a problem with one of them.

 

I run produce. Been to the Aldi's in Valpo. Lumper fee was around $85 bucks. Time wait about 2 hrs. Can show up early there. Aldi's in Dwight IL not bad at all. Lumpers don't show up til 5am so if you have earlier apt; they will let you back into door and wait. Lumper fee was $65 there. Love's truckstop nearby to wait if you arrive way early too. Also 2 other little hole in wall ts's there too. Would rather deal with Aldi's any day over Wallyworld.

Just about to leave this one now. They are disorganized and not in the world of time. 4 hours to pull off 11 skids and check in a simple order (<600 cases of about 10 items). I'd rather deliver to a Walmart DC than ever come here again.

 

Ah you rang my bell. Now I remember that one on 49 off of 30. Now if I can just remember the other ones. I'm thinking Webberville, MI or northern OH. I'd come from the house and get a Shelbyville or Goodlettsville, TN Tyson load to an Aldi. I use to do that run and then DH to Toledo for a Smucker's load to outside Monee. Then an Ottawa or Waterloo Tyson load or even E. Dubuque Farmland load to TX, LA or FL. Then I was back in the groove of north/south running.

 

Well Red, you were close to my companies shop and 15 minutes from my house...

 

LOL.. Hadn't noticed that. I passed thru your town on the way to Saxonburg via US-422. Took my 10 at the Natrona Heights Walmart before my o-dark-thirty visit to Aldi. Still not far.. camping at the Portersville Peelot at the moment. Bath day whether I needed it or not.

 

It's not Saturday!

 

That peelot is tight and packs up early but they keep their showers pretty clean.

I see lots of trucks parked @ that Walmart...

Good luck finding a reload out of there, if you find yourself with a lot of time, that state park back the road has miles of very nice paved walking trails and a nice lake.
