Not sure bout all truckers, but my guy definitely wears a cape....driving for truth, justice and the American way....just doesnt do it for SNI anymore....maybe when they get their capes outta the cleaners and wear em right, instead of on their heads, theyll be super heros again too.

WOW! Thanks for the clarification on that. I was reading it and after four years at Schneider, I could believe it. Guess my intuition was right. Some things never change and others get worse.

Has anyone read the forum post on crossroads?... jesus! drivers really shared their opinions about the sensors on there... seems like SNI is just ignoring it all though.... The other day when I posted the 7 degrees pic of my dash, when I woke up that morning it was +00...lol truck still only stays on 5 minutes...

When I was at the Laredo OC the mechanic laughed when I asked if they figured out anything about the sensor problem yet... same thing at the Indianapolis OC...lmao

But hey, it could be way worse... remember that.

I said it once, if you have a new cascadia with the exhaust pointed toward the ground, and your truck won't stay idling when it is that cold, disconnect from your trailer and pull your drives out from under the trailer. The exhaust is getting trapped under the trailer and giving the sensor a false reading.

Another thing I found works is to park and just idle and every time it is about to cut off, push in the clutch, now you will have to do this several times till the engine temp comes down a bit, but once it comes down to normal idling temp it should stay on as there isn't as much heat coming from the exhaust.

I guess we were just lucky in our 2013 Cascadia. We set the cruise, bumped up the idle and coulda idled til the tanks ran out of fuel. Maybe they just hadnt programmed the sensor yet.

Thats it, alert the company that you found a way to idle. They read these posts. When they 1st installed them, there were ways to beat the sensor. But, people posted the ways to beat it and the company reset the sensors so those glitches wouldn't work. Gotta watch what you post.

That's true. They even lower your miles if you reveal yourself on here talking bad about the company. This is public address.
