id say use all the things you need to make it comfortable for yourself and let them pay someone to boost your truck off :)

Not everyone has that option, driver. No need to feel sorry for me though, I always have the option to leave SNI if I want to.

    Truer words were never spoken.

However, if there are drivers that insist on idling while they eat, shower, and do whatever other necessary thing during the day, why don't the driver managers do what they're supposed to do....MANAGE THE DRIVERS???

But no.....it's easier to just throw another rule over the entire fleet, driver safety and comfort be ######.

Exactly, which was the reason I pointed out that clown in Laredo a couple months ago. He just leaves his truck idling 24/7. He already has his retirement pension set from the military and says "if they don't like it then fire me, I don't care either way". Well, now he's probably going to quit over this, and the rest of us get screwed.

Oh well, I got that thing put in and so far no issues, but we'll see what happens in the winter when the battery life is cut in half in the cold weather. I've taken maybe 2 34's in nearly 2 years so that shouldn't be an issue.

    48Packard Thanks this.

It is probably not because of your idle percentage that they did not put one in, since you are driving a 2006 Century, they are probably about to trade it out and they do not want to put it on there just to have to take it off when they sell it.

I haven't had to idle either but I've only been doing this about 30 days now and haven't even had to take a 34 on the road yet. I've ran my bunk heater, cooler, laptop and radio for 14hrs so far without issue. When I broke down and they ran the batteries down where the low voltage regulator shut all the accessories down. I still had enough juice for 20 more attempts before I finally needed a jump. I seem to have really good batteries on my truck but non of that will help me if I need the AC. My truck is in the shop right now for a PM so I guess I'll see real soon first hand how this thing is going to work.

True. I'm currently on 762,500 miles. I'm due for a trade the end of this year/early next year.

These sensors are a last ditch effort to get rid of you guys that have overstayed your welcome. They know how completely stupid these sensors are. They can't get enough of these drivers "just fulfilling their contracts" for obvious reasons.

You want to know how to avoid the idle restrictions? Keep the RPM's at 800 or above. All the system does is reduce the high idle from 1000 rpms down to 700. I imagine that if it goes below 20 or above 70 the system will kick up the high idle back to 1000 rpms.

Not that I plan on doing this, but the polish way around the system is to get some sort of device (load bar?) and hold the fuel pedal down James Bond style at 1000 rpms. Or even a cinder block or something with weight.
