Well hopefully one of the arrogant clod hoppers will preload you a trailer to keep you moving over the weekend.
it’s pretty odd for anyone in Wichita to be involved with that load at all. Unless he’s an od team driver. Then that’s his FM looking out for his driver, as we would all want to happen.
I stopped early yesterday to get this trailer inspected at the loves in Burlington, co. Checked in at 1530 and was told 4 hours. around 1800 they called me and we went rounds over them not following the notes that say we are pre approved for these services. I had to get after hours service involved, they approved it. Eventually our normal guy checked shop connect (during his off hours, at home), he went rounds with them for not following the very simple instructions. Needless to say they weren’t really motivated and didn’t get around to my inspection. Our road service guy and I had a good laugh about it today.
The loves in Laramie got me right in, after a Creat truck was denied a DOT by their shop. I fought the wind enough for the day by the time they got through with me. Should be much nicer tomorrow.![]()
Short, easy, not really worth my time stretch load that I took 42 miles on Wednesday.![]()
I came across this picture from a few years ago. One of our drivers hauled this very creepy looking statue/sculpture.![]()

I don't know why Wichita got involved either. I just know Robert came up with a simple, uncomplicated plan for both of us that kept us both moving and would get the other driver home, or at least in the right time zone, and it was over ruled.
Maybe I am just more easily pissed off lately because of cut in my pay. And I am not the only one, I spoke to several drivers while on the Rancho yard that have heard the same story from other drivers...and they haven't even started with the 9900 mile salary driver's pay yet, probably because they don't want mass departures that would leave them with too many empty trucks to fill all at once. -
Made it to Kingman after loading the other day and at 8 pm the Love's was only half full and never did fill completely up. Managed to make it to Santa Rosa yesterday with 8 min left on my 70. Will make it to my delivery in Park City around an hour before my appointment. I was told by my travel agent I am getting a TMX load to Joisey. Not sure if it's preloaded or if I am gonna have to PC to the #### hole of a truck stop down the road from the shipper. Either way, no wait for a load.

Load is preloaded and at the yard on an older step. It only has 1 stop, Newark. I've been there several times so, other than being in Jersey, it's a cake run.

There was a 10% chance of rain in Wichita today. On the way in, it rained hard enough to use medium intermittent on the wipers. And it was threatening to rain at the receiver, so I had to back in before untarping. The forklift guy says now, TMX owns 3 of the buildings in that industrial complex north of town. Got empty and headed to the yard...yep, raining and...my load is preloaded and sucured, but not a tarp even close to the load. Thankfully it's OSB crates of stuff so it didn't get the product wet. I had to take some of the straps loose so I could pad some of the load because it is a mixed up bunch of sizes. Then just kinda hung the tarps over the load and put a couple bungies on just to keep the load dry and the tarps on. Then I said to heck with doing anything else. Went to Walmart and got my weekly groceries and got back to the yard. Got a message from our VP yesterday asking to have another conversation about this pay stuff, so I called him. He is still convinced that I will be making better money, but he has cherry picked some of my bigger months to show as an example. I keep telling him that he needs to look at the whole year like I did. But it's the SOSDD, same cheerleading feel good b.s. from a corporate company guy...I told him I will give it a try, but won't get my hopes up. I guess he isn't use to drivers actually putting pen to paper and producing hard data to prove their point.
As far as the new(to us) Wichita terminal, I am less impressed with this one than I was with the last one. And as far as parking spots, it has a few more, but there isn't quite enough room in the middle of the lot to put an additional row of trailers, so there is a lot of wasted space that can't be used. Especially on the one side where there is a whole bunch of steel beams and concrete reinforcement mesh taking up a bunch of spots...looks like it's for a project next door and they are just using our lot to stack it up. I guess the nicest thing I can say about this facility is, they at least gave us a "driver appreciation" plastic #### house so we don't have to crap in a trash bag and leave it to stink in the dumpster.dwells40 Thanks this.
