After watching the video again, it almost looks like the guy cut it so short, the front spread caught the step box then hooked the steer tire...I saw the aftermath of a Swift do that to a Walmart truck like that years ago and his excuse "I forgot I had a trailer behind me".

Quite impressive. The other guy I running with is in a spare truck after a box jockey made a hard left put his spot and dam near ripped his passenger door off. They had to replace the entire door, I guess those Volvo mirrors are stronger then they look.

talking to a lonestar guy, they are going to peoplenet per TFI’s wishes. They had Rand McNally and the switched because RM was going to kill that eld, then changed their minds. The system they went to was not legal in Canada for some reason. I hope we saved all our old peoplenet junk!

Wait, wait, wait....a Canadian parent company says to switch...to a non-canadian compliant ELD system? Are we sure Daseke didn't just change their name? That sounds like a Daseke mismanagement decision right there.

And I am still sitting here.

Apparently the road service guy got the TMC's leak fixed enough he could start the engine and pull out from under his trailer and another TMC came and got it. Now the wrecked bobtail is sitting by the curb. And driver of the damaged truck came over with a Walmart bag and picked up all the body parts on the ground...

So, after all these years hearing about how flatbedders can’t back up, it’s been nothing but a rumor. Here’s living proof they can’t go forward. lol

Messaged my dispatcher a while ago, no reply, which usually means he is out, again. Messaged Toledo, she says sales is still looking. I said 4 days after empty and no load, even after a holiday, is totally unacceptable. Told her I won't be sitting here tomorrow morning, one way or the other.

Wonder if TMC will have a job after this? Was he parked illegally? Clearly marked no parking? I know some make a spots don’t have markings.

I think I would’ve pointed that truck south and headed home this morning, especially after 4 days. No call for that. At least DH you up to Toledo or somewhere better.

That TMC wasn't in any kind of parking spot, he was double parked on the curb, but still, a driver pulling a 48' spread had plenty of room to get around him. He may have gotten excited because there was an open spot to back in to once he got his cab past TMC's hood and forgot to swing wide.

*Addition - The tow truck is hooking up the TMC. I don't think there is any mechanical damage to the front of the truck, but the tow truck is picking it up from the front, which means he will have to pull the drive shaft or the axles. He tried the drive shaft, but after beating on it for a while, he pulled the axles. Maybe because there is front end damage, he didn't want to take a chance of parts falling off from bouncing on the steer axle. I did see the driver side hood latch laying on the ground so maybe he didn't want to risk the hood flopping open pulling it backwards.

Your play by play reminded me of this song. It is a fitting tale of what we see in truck stops. Enjoy.

Got a load around 14:30, Sanford, NC, 8 am pickup going to Casper, Kalispell (MT), and Pasco, WA. 4 skid steers (pick up at a Keen warehouse not the Wylie Sanford yard). It says the Casper stop delivers on a Sunday, but Google Maps says they're not open on Sunday, so I will call them tomorrow once I get loaded.
