Looks like a curvy road just west of Highway 13. I wonder if the road was slick or if he just wasn't paying attention. Lucky driver in any event.
Flat Earth Trucker and Sons Hero Thank this. -
There is an S curve that goes through Arkdale but the speed on that particular stretch is reduced to 35 mph IIRC. Once you get through town on either side it goes back up to 55 mph. Ran that road many times on Walmart dedicated loads out of Tomah.Flat Earth Trucker and Bud A. Thank this.

Article says Highway 82, which is maybe 10 miles south of Arkdale. Maybe it was on Highway 21, or maybe it wasn't that close to Arkdale.Flat Earth Trucker Thanks this.

Part of it is in my personal experince pete sleepers and cabs are built fairly well as opposed to other brands. Still an aluminum can esentially, but i have still noticed over the years that petes tend to hold up a bit better to this kinda thing.
That said big yikes. This dude should have been dead.W923, Flat Earth Trucker, Bud A. and 2 others Thank this. -
Is it just me or does the one pic of it look like a stretched pete limousine all beat to crap?
Flat Earth Trucker Thanks this. -
