I will bet money that they are all otr companies. They continue to pay low wages, provide expensive healthcare, bad retirement and little home time. I am sure that they paint a rosy picture to get the drivers hired on only to disapoint them in the long run. When will drivers ever learn. I to am curious about these 5 companies.

I would like to know too. I'm not disputing that, BUT I have never seen one iota of documentation on this subject.

Like I said in my other posts, worst managers I found were in U.S. Express and J.B. Hunt.
I worked 2mon. each and USX I was on the way home which took about 3 weeks due to wrong planning, delays and more layovers without pay. Managers and planners are reject a-holes from the planet Pluto, no consideration for drivers or acting as a human being, oh but they pretend. USX had a pimple face pipsqueek send me one preplan on the XP onboard PC they have and once I accepted the meager 300-400mi. trip (OTR), switch it with something 80-200mi. and he thought I was too dumb to know what he's doing. After two times of him doing this I started sending messages, angry ones and demanding action to be taken. These people expected me to stop the truck at any given time and report on MY cellphone, where I am and what I am doing. Repeated deliveries over the weekend, sitting on the load, twice someone needed home time and I "HAD" to swap plans with them and lose 200mi. min. + 2 days. So I asked for home time as soon as I reached the east coast to be sent back west. Guess what ? Nobody to swap plans with me until I hit the I-15 on the I-10. Load going to Vegas when I am 100mi. from terminal, I loose 400mi. again. One time they send me for pickup without an address "we don't have one". I didn't have time to blow off on them, I found it eventually. Another time I ask for directions and realize the co. is right off the highway, if I followed what they sent I would end up middle of the boonies somewhere. Twice they sent me on mountain roads it took all my attention and everything I knew to keep the 53 footer between the guardrails of a very narrow, two ways, twisted, slanted mountain road. So I get to pickup and ask if I can take it two days early, guess what ? not ready. Fed-Ex at least was smart enough to send a 40' trailer. The other mine road was to a factory which only needed a 48' trailer. But I chucked that to experience, the managers attitude is horrible and they think they deal with kids. Truck selection at USX is better though, they got Volvos, Centuries and Petes and they install power inverters. JBH Centuries (might fall on an old International or even Columbia) are fused so weakly that a 150W power inverter will blow the sockets. Nevertheless, the managers have no idea of the driving workday and schedules, even when they have no preplan or they give you a 10-11am pickup, they expect you up and running at 6am, just stupid. Safety oh you'll hear about it, but those who speak it don't even know the meaning of it. "Fix it when you get your next home time.". These a-holes want you to sit 4hrs. loading/unloading without any detention pay. If I didn't check my detailed statements, they'd get away with not reimbursing me for many things so get on this ASAP if working for them. Worst a-hole companies to haul for are Quaker Oats and CVS in LA, V or Visio, Gilbert complex in Chino CA - encompasses many names, McLane in Phoenix AZ, they got their own division but hey. Those are just a few of my gripes, there are others. I imagine many companies act like this, why don't we block the highways from access for a few months ? You think they'd notice ? I think so.

If I could make a short list of the abusive, driver mills, possibly in order of size, maybe if someone advised me in the beginning I would've avoided them:

Swift, Schneider, Werner, J.B.Hunt, U.S.Express, C.R. England, Crete, Knight Trans., CRST, Trans AM, Celadon, Marten, Interstate Trucking, USA Truck. Did I miss any ?

Basic guide would be if the truck number is in 4 digits or higher, forget about it.

The easiest way to find a bad trucking company on here is to click on the motor carrier question - the inside scoop forum. They are listed at the top for all to see. Well, not all but about 99% of those listed. For those of you that need more proof, just look at any company that advertises in a truck stop magazine. It's real easy.
