Font Rambo's are a dime a dozen. Just like the radio Rambo's over the years. I have seen many loudmouths (mostly drunk) get the crap beat out of them. Just because that person is quiet and timid does not mean you can intimidate them forever. There comes a time when enough is enough. Like I said in another thread. I am a physically large person. I don't generally have a problem with this. I also try to be as respectful as a person will allow me to be. In fact I have many friends that today I will NOT enter a bar with. They get a few drinks in them and they start fighting. I will do EVERYTHING I can to defuse the situation. I don't respond to profanity and you can call me every name in the book, just don't invade my space. I am not trying to come off like I am some ninja warrior. I am trying to get across to people that sometimes a quiet timid nature is only what you see. I seen a traffic accident many years ago. The accident was the fault of this young mother. I was listening to the conversation. the lady said i'm sorry many times. The guy was at least 6 inches taller and outweighed her by at least 50 pounds. He was asked to back off because the baby was crying and his aggression was bothering both of them. This lady asked him many times to back off. Even while she was trying to tell her husband what was going on over a cell phone the guy kept up. I was also on the phone by then to the cops. However I noticed she had put her child down. In about 20 seconds this wannabee Rambo was out cold next to the car. She hit him one time and he went down. Turns out her father has several advanced degrees in both Aikido and Taekwondo and of course this was daddy's little girl. I HIGHLY advise all you Font Rambo's to keep it that way. Pull that crap out in the real world and you just might pull back a nub!

Did someone say it already? When the trailer is too low like in the picture/very first post, dump the airbags and stack up some short 2x4s on the frame rails. Pump up airbags again and lower the landing gear. Still not high enough? dump the airbags again and add more wood then pump up airbags again. Very easy fix unless you don't have any wood.
Every driver should carry a 16" handsaw in the truck, takes up very little space and when you see a 4x4 or 2x4 sitting around on the ground, grab it and cut it into 14-16 inch pieces and throw them into your side box.
Now if your trailer is too high, you can dump your air and stack some of those 2x4s on the 5th wheel and back under and raise up your airbags and lift the trailer up then raise the landing gear. Drop air bags and pull out your should be at the right height. The lifting work was done by your truck and your brain rather than your back and your shoulders.MACK E-6 Thanks this. -
I worked for a fairly large trucking company and ended up getting roped into being a jockey.
I really hated it but I was never rude to anyone and if anyone asked for help I would help them.
But you have to realize sometimes when you see the yard jockey sitting there he just may have made 10 moves. It can be very stressful at times. And at least the warehouse where I worked at they didn't Pace themselves. They would just blurt out a whole bunch of numbers and you had to run. They would even take a half loaded trailer from one door and make you swap it with another half loaded trailer that was two doors down. And you would switch them multiple times until they were loaded and then they would do the same thing again. Like I said it could be stressful.
So I'm not siding with anyone but a little patience and courtesy sometimes can go a long way.
And also remember the job of the yard jockey first and foremost is to move the loaded trailers out of the door and move an empty in so their warehouse can keep working. The loaded trailers that are already staged are not really their concern and if you need help you may have to wait.scottied67 Thanks this. -
Taekwondo on the other hand actually uses strike and physical force to perform moves and take downs. Mainly kicks.... i do not want to be kicked in the head by anyone that practices taekwondo regularly. -

Wow, really?
You do realize that the trailer crank has a low gear to be used in JUST this type of situation?
That's not even low enough to need to be cranked up. Lock in your power divider, move out 5 feet in front of the trailer, then back under it at half throttle with the air dumped. You'll find that the trailer will hop right up where it needs to be. If you do happen to get stuck, crank it up in low gear until it just comes off the tire.
Takes more time to find the yard jockey than it does to just handle the situation.scottied67 Thanks this. -
