Looks to me like camper and watever other car that is, was parked on shoulder in front of the runaway ramp. Truck needed runaway ramp and so he took it ...if that is the case tho . that truck had to be hauling ### over 100+mph if he made it all the way to the end of a runaway ramp uphill and went thru an entire camper on his way up . that is some serious speed he must have been going

They're usually all over it anyway. There's almost always a silver SUV State Patrol commercial vehicle enforcement on the west side of the tunnel, and I've seen it with trucks pulled over many times. But yeah, expect them to be paying even more attention. If you're not sure, probably better to head up to Wyoming or down through New Mexico if you can.

Frankly..the amount of idiots traveling that stretch of hwy on weekends both cars and big trucks is astounding...im shocked they don't have one of these every weekend to begin with..

They pretty much do, just doesn't always make the news here. Holiday weekends are especially terrible. (Don't ask me about Labor Day weekend 2016.)drvrtech77 Thanks this.

The last 48 hours from Grand Junction and back has been a total cluster. Mudslides, from reports a semi went through another semi near Georgetown and there was a fire the crash above...
