In below zero weather you have to do something to help your fuel out.......

Kero at the pump is almost impossible to find around me..... Some places have it in 5 gallon buckets.

My fuel supplier's ulsd is good to -20 (hint it comes from Canada) and I still juice it @ zero or below

When diesel was $4 or $5/gallon, it made sense to buy antigel, shut it down and use the bunk heater. But with diesel under $2/gal I just idle anytime it might get below 20.

My scangauge reads fuel temp and even when it was -40 my fuel temps were above 30F with the engine running...

Now at -20 we have a different program......

I had dual 150-gallon tanks, put 1/2 gallon of Howes in each tank. Their recommendation was, I think, 1/2 gallon per 160 gallons below 0 degrees.

That's not nearly enough imo. Even on bottle it states to double the dosage if using biodiesel, so in your case you would have to add two of those bottles to each tank.

I'm a company driver not too concerned with Warranties. I can tell ya I was running down I70 near Lawrence Kansas -8 windchill several years ago over 1/2 tank of fuel.Anyway truck started gelling while I was driving.Limped 20 mph down the shoulder 6 miles to Truckstop.Put anti gel in topped off tanks. After about 12 miles, truck started running like a dream.So,yeah...I recommend it ,if it gets around 0° where you run.

    Lepton1 Thanks this.

Kerosene is the way to go with espar or webasto. The glow pin screen will last forever. Maintenance cost will be next to nothing.

I was at ThermoKing in Denver once getting bunk heater repaired and service guy told me Howes is good for bunk heater.
