Yea plus its a walk away. I will walk w/o a doubt. On top of that I am having a lawyer look through any contract I sign before my name goes on it.

Here is the way to do a lease.

Have a wife that makes enough money to cover monthly living expenses at home. Run your ### off and expect to make zero money. Save and Get yourself a large maintenance account to protect from a disaster. Once Maintenance account is full pay down every extra penny to the principal. Follow that, youre golden. Trying to get a lease and still have say 3k dollars a month you must pay at home for family life then youre done before you started.

I'm leasing for first time. Only run solo. Percentage lease. I go home and stay 5 days and run 21 days.
I see that it's possible to do a successful lease you just have to be in right situation with the right company. (I make same money as lease that made as company driver so will turn truck in soon)

The only thing I am going to add to this discussion, is this: as a L/O you will not have company provided healthcare. That can eat up a TON of $$ out of a budget. Get those costs and add them into your budget. L/O can be lucrative. It is a valid business option.....but you have to know all the pitfalls going in.

Right now it's hard to make decent money just on the company side most places.

Most companies offer healthcare to l/p drivers at their group rate. JB Hunt does
