I took Greyhound from Pontiac Mi to Columbus Ohio once for an orientation. I had worked a month prior, Doing a Detroit to Columbus turn 5 nights a week. All through December, almost every night I ran it was snowing hard.So off I go on a Greyhound in a snow storm. Halfway across 23 road was closed. Bus Driver was trying to pass Yellow with a set of doubles, constantly flashing his headlights all the while as we headed back to I-75. Got down to Dayton and I-70 was closed. Another Driver and I were talking to the Bus Driver, he had 6 mos experience, his first winter. Meanwhile 23 reopened so we headed back north. Somehow We arrived safely, 23 hours after I left Pontiac. Never Again.

I went to work for company hiring right out of my home city. I drove to the yard for the orientation and was home every night. Perhaps you can find some company that is close by to your town.

Personally I just bite the bullet and pay for the flight if the company agrees to reimburse the cost up to the cost of what would have been the greyhound ticket. Most times the flight is just $50 more. I’d rather pay $50-$100 more and get there in hour instead of being in a crackhound watching my stuff and barely getting sleep for 2-3 days.

What is wrong with Greyhound? I don't see what difference it makes how you get to a destination as long as you get there.

Yeah I remember the good old days of Trailways well then electric fan blowing on us as we drove through Arizona in 109 degrees needless to say all the passengers on the bus we're pretty much ready to call it quits true story that happened in 1976
