My last fleet manager is high in that food chain. She told me USA is in the process of changing things within their overall scheme and improvements should be coming for most everyone.

While I have grievances about some things I can say from experience these are the things you see when serious efforts are being made to enhance areas of operations. Changes near the bottom usually are productive if thought out and genuine.

I was going north on I-75 Saturday and I-81 on Monday and USA had the strongest presence in numbers both days over any competitor..... Even Swift and Schnieder. USA had the strongest presence at ConAgra and Honda during my visits there.

    One step at a time.

    J_FROG Thanks this.

My first five solo days saw 339 miles total. the truck kept breaking down.

then i got a newer truck. My first full week solo saw 2910 miles.

My second week is averaging just under 500 miles a day. Headed from NJ to Michigan right now.

Some loads are "critical". That is what my FM says when she doesn't want me screwing it up and be dead on time. Trailers can be enemies. Moving the tandems can be a challenge now and then. Hooking up and sliding the wheels can take 10 minutes to two hours..... depending on how friendly the trailer is.

    Overall, this ain't bad.

My wife who was against me on this mentioned riding with me for a week. LOL How messed up is that? Anything is possible if you keep swingin' at it.

My wife loves to ride along, but not for months at a time. Make sure you do the paperwork at least a week before she hops in. You can call and have it faxed or emailed to you. Then just get it signed and send it back with a current picture of the rider.

Oh crap man. Yeah...sorry i didnt warn you about the East Coast truck stop issue LOL Yeah they are few and far between, and usually start filling up around 2pm.

Sux about the rest of the problems you ran into. Its crazy how different everyones experience can be. When i upgraded..i was in a 2011 cascadia the same day..in van buren. had a few small issues with it, but nothing to keep it in the shop. hang in there

Hey, Tom. I hope yer doin' well.

Lots and lots of little things keep piling up. I had a class in conflict management once. They had something there called the iceberg syndrome. It is when lots of little things keep piling up that never get addressed. This happens to women a lot. Day after day. Week after week. Month after month....... dozens of little things keep piling up until they SNAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I run into a C1 grad now and then. Interesting seeing their take on the situation.

    Be safe, buddy.

i may dump USA and goto Schneider's tanker division. i have all endorsements...so im good to go. Only downside to Schneider is e-logs. Huge sign on bonus..plus, their trucks have dual bunks..unlike USA..who advertises a 'passenger program'...but doesnt supply you a truck that allows you to have passengers. That pissed me off the most. Some tool actually tried to tell me that 'they' assume your passenger will be a spouse. Even so, there still isint enough room on those bunks for two people to be comfortable.

    ??????

who the hell are they to assume anything? my kids were really looking forward to going out, now they cant. thats the third reason i picked USA, that has fallen through.

oh, and dont get used to the miles. ive talked to 5 drivers...and they all concurred that when you are in your 60 day time frame, they work you pretty good. once you get your perm FM, the miles will plummet. i hope not...but it figures. i really like my temp FM. always has me Preplanned for weekends etc etc

Elogs are coming at USA. I have one now. I'm one if the beta testers for the profram while they figure out ehich elog system to go with.

My fm is real good about preplans thru the weekend. So it just depends on who you get.

Heck atleast you are fetting guarantied pay in your first 60. I was sink or swim. But again my fm did and still does me fine.

Oh and there is a reason for a HUGE sign on bonus.

And hope you like no apu and no idling between 20-70 degrees.

I am not defending usa or saying don't go to Schneider. Just giving you some info.

    Sent from somewhere out there
