My group did range work today....... then two of us stayed after about 90 minutes to study pretrip. I was told I would have easily tested out on my work today. That was nice to hear. Small clicks and tribes form early on. Here are a few tribe events i heard are going on tonight: "A good steak dinner"; "pizza and beer"; "indoor motocross" and my tribe is going to Buffalo Wild Wings to watch a UFC title fight. Gonna get up around 5 AM to do laundry before hotel machines get occupied. Also gonna work on pretrip again tomorrow on the range. Newbies will begin showing up mid afternoon tomorrow. I will probably get a new roommate then.
hey hey!! I got lucky. i was on the 2nd floor..so i never had an issue with laundry. PLEASE tell Brad, that TOM from a few weeks ago, says hi. And good luck testing out. met my trainer..he has a dedicated route..so i got the weekend off!! whoo hoo! and ill be home each weekend for all of phase 1.!! booyahh! Seems like a really cool guy, so we should get along just fine.
You lucky dog!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I went out with Brad yesterday on the road. BAM!!!!!!! We're dead. LOL He passed me on the range a couple times this morning while coming in and made faces in the window. I will tell him you said hello. One of my sidekicks was with him Thursday coming down the hill adjacent to the silos. A car pulled out right in front of them...... locked the brakes and missed them by a foot. Takes a lickin' and keeps on tickin'! I'm glad you got a decent start. 4th floor here
Six years ago and three days, I went to Indy c-1 (see one you see 'em all), Renewing my haz-mat now, just in case... USA truck has me on a "no-rehire" list... no hard feelings, Oh, Saw on the news a couple months ago one of their trucks tried to take out a RR bridge here in Cleveland, OH, Yeah buddy, Great stuff...
I did my laundry at 5:30 this morning. Then went to the grocery. Worked on pretrip. I got a new roomie. He came in on a bus from Macon. We did the introductions and I don't like brocolli talk. I'm gonna take him over to the school to show the route and property. Then watch The Walking Dead. Yeah. I know. He likes wrestling. And I watch zombies. I'm hoping I go home this Friday. I miss the dogs......... wife too. LOL
Finally! Marked progress. I tested out on range work today. Pretrip tomorrow. I am hoping to test out on road work Wednesday and do state on Thursday. Hey, themoj0..... Brad says hey back to ya! I drove for him today. I heard a rumor that they are bringing in a medical investigator this week. Not sure what that is about or true. I spoke with a USA driver today waiting on the clock next to the school. I like what I heard. He began solo in November. The light at the end of the tunnel is getting larger.
I did my pretrip and road test today. I named every part correctly but left out a few adjectives and nuts and bolts. The road test was a wash with a rubbed curb on a turn. Repeat tomorrow. I finally got my down shifts and recovery speed/rpm worked out. No floating allowed. All double shifts matching speed and rpms...... up and down. Lots of tachometerr watching with little eye on the road it seems (sometimes). I'll test again tomorrow. My goal is to be state tested by Thursday or maybe Friday. The remaining students starting February 25 are testing out. A couple women are on their fifth week of school. A couple of USA drivers walked through the place today who were wearing blue "trainer" shirts. I do not know what is up with that. It seems fewer newbies are being pushed out the door in the current class. While my testing was not particularly pleasant and progressive toward goals, I did make progress in other areas that will advance my overall driving abilities. The work done addresses concerns with being the best I can be. Albeit, it was a good day.
Yippeeeeeeee!!!!!!!! LOL Tested out on road work today. I'll probably do pretrip tomorrow. I may be slipping back into original goal territory of leaving on Friday. About five or six in the remaining 27 left in my class have graduated. Many still attend classes from the previous class...... and even the class before it. Feelin' good. C'mon sevens!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I passed my state exams today. So, i am the new owner of a cdl. I did my exit interview. I will do my last USA interview in the morning; determine orientation location and dates and trainer information; and get my reward check. I will be heading home sometime tomorrow afternoon or evening. A few of us have a dinner planned Friday night. I am not sure if my success will affect that event in any way. If I can do this, most anyone can. Research every thought and angle. Survey every possible contribution of information. Set goals and do it. You will meet some interesting people and some very annoying people..... all kinds. Keep your head up and your eyes and ears open. Don't be afraid to ask questions and experiment when conditions permit. Don't get angry with inanimate objects or people. Keep studying and do not procrastinate. Be proud and consientious/empathetic of others. Don't lower your guard. Plow ahead and don't be afraid. It was an intersting three weeks. My goal was surpassed and I am going home on the date expected. Good luck to all who go forth in such an endeavor. Be safe.
Home sweet home! The wife likes me and the dogs love me. Vandalia - April 3. Gonna kick back for a couple days and check out my one and only grand daughter arriving while I was gone. A side note: There were a couple students at C1/Indy who were being carried by Star Transportation. USA and PAM (seemingly) are not the only carriers employing through that school.
