How many times does the stupid phone ring while I'm doing something like that! I put a stop to it by leaving the phone in the truck.
Anyone ever make this mistake?

I am really surprised you didn’t hear the landing gear skidding across the parking lot. It is quite loud when it happens.

Anyone who isn’t married constantly to the same trailer, does drop and hooks or even is married to a trailer but has to drop it for some reason and doesn’t couple to a lot of trailers will do this exact thing driver. Numerous times. #### happens. Focus on always doing the exact same thing correctly in the exact same order always. Especially when half asleep. One time I dragged a loaded trailer full of tires like almost a mile down the road without releasing the trailer brakes. Imagine my surprise when I checked my mirrors and saw a huge cloud of thick smoke coming off of my trailer. That’s what being half asleep will get you lol

We've all done dumb stuff. Mostly early on in our careers. I've gotten in the habit now of pulling forward a couple feet and letting the truck coast a bit to make sure it rolls free. If it stops abruptly when I take power away you know something ain't right. I never force a truck to go. If it doesn't roll free GOAL!!

Yeah, I did once. Was most of the way thru hooking up to an empty, guy came over and asked me if I help him slide his tandems, the arm wouldn't stay out and he didn't have vise grips to hold it in place. No problem, walked over, took care of it, walked back, climbed in and started to leave with the gear still down. Got about 5 feet before wondering WTF is all that racket.
