Swift has some curtain side cabover parking lots in Michigan. I was told back in the day Swift was big into car hauling.

Swift still works 3 cabovers out of Lathrop...mainly for deliveries in the "length restricted" areas of Sacramento...also for Sears/Kmart on the coast...maybe 2 of them out of the Sparks terminal last I heard.

You see the ones out of Lathrop around Sacramento all the time. And the driver still gets 2cpm for "nose bleed time"!

Well I made the phone call to Gary today and asked to be switched to the van division and to the Columbus terminal, I was asked to give them until tomorrow morning to try and find a trainer for me. Anyone have an idea of the chances are for that happening? I can't see how they didn't have anyone for me until I called today and now they may be able to pull something off all at once. I was told if they didn't have anyone for me tomorrow that they were going to transfer me so that I could get on the road.

That's the squeaky wheel Injun was referring too. They need you pulling a flatbed but once they saw you offering a simple solution to a problem they actually put some effort into it..or appeared to at least.

I am just hoping it works. I really am wanting to pull on the flatbed side but I am tired of sitting around and I will bite the bullet and pull a van if need be.

Was talking to a friend who tested out a year ago October. They told him they didn't have truck for him and it may be upwards of 1 month to get one. (Ocala) He told them to give him a lay off slip and he would go back on unemployment until they got him one. Within a few hours they had him riding to Greer to pick up a truck. :biggrin_25525:

I can only hope that I have that kind of luck tomorrow. :biggrin_25525:
