The chart is not really misleading. It simply does not take into account the company policies. What is listed on the chart is what is required by law. The company can, and most do, have many more restrictions.
For example I've never worked for a company that allows driver to edit drive time.

    COBB2070 Thanks this.

I have read the driver handbook and it did not mention it at all.
That was over 8 years ago.
Now I just go on what is sent over the QC. I do not have the latest special edition of the drivers biblebook.

It does not really matter to me at all. When things change we are sent a message explaining the change, and I will work within the new rules.

"Remember, we (Swift) have to be changed over to ELDs before the year is out,"
I can not remember something I have never been told, seen or heard. So, news to me.

I spend my time driving and keeping to myself, for the most part. I find it amazing that so many people have so much more time to get all the little tidbits that float around.
I guess I am just too antisocial to sit around chatting with others all the time.

Yesterday I was stuck on the side of the road. A safety person came around 'to keep me company' while I waited, and I hated every second of it while he chatted away. But I had no polite way of saying 'I do not want you here'.

Wow, How can you not have heard of the Federal mandate that the grandfathered AOBR's go away in December 2019? I mean it's not like it hasn't been all over the news for the last couple years.

So just so you can never say that again. By law, (Map-21 to be specific) no one will be allowed to use AOBR's any longer. It will all have to be ELD's.

That is fine, and I do not care.
When the time comes the change will happen, no big deal.
And I have not seen it 'all over the news'. But perhaps we are reading different news.

You are trying to make it into a really big deal. But is it, really?

Personally, if changes come that I do not think I can deal with, I will simply quit trucking.
Again, no big deal. I will just do something else.

Why does there have to be SO much drama about every little thing?
    Just deal with it!

What ever news it has been on is not popular up here. If it has been law that it had to changed for two years the guys here would have liked to have known it before being forced to buy them a year ago, I know some, probably most went with the aobr's and are now having to change.

There was a video message, came from the safety guy in Phoenix, detailed exactly how they plan to transition all of our trucks that didn't START with ELDs? Would've been the same one that informed us of that pass rating?

It seems to depend on the company's policy. I know Rohel doesn't allow personal conveyance under any circumstances (Unless it involves a lease operator.), Jrayl allows personal conveyance for reasons 2 and 3 only, using it for 1 is not allowed.
Jrayl waited until two weeks ago to start switching to ELD, so things have gotten interesting in the past two weeks in that department.
