jt, you dont add them as lien holder, the apu is added to your truck insurance and they are named additional insured, so they would get paid by insurance in case the unit was destroyed in a wreck.
pretty standard for anything that is financed, or leased in this case with dynasys.
look, its different strokes for different folks. you look at it as 10,000 dollars spent. i look at it as spending 10,000 to save 30,000. and with it being a lease the entire payment can be deducted.
after 32 years i finally decided to spend some money to make me comfortable, i decided after 32 years to go a easier route with a unit plumbed into my fuel system so i dont carry gas back and forth. etc etc.
the bottom line is do whatever you feel comfortable with, no one is wrong either which way they go.
Apu decision time

For those interested.
It cost me exactly 2 gallons of unleaded to not idle the truck last night in the 28 degree weather in NM. $6.71 to be exact
Figure it would have been @$40 to idle the truck, so over $30 saved.
Ran the portable heater and hooked the batteries up to the generator to keep them topped off.
Martinscottied67 and Clasix1055 Thank this. -
Ran it yesterday, and today down here in Eloy, Az.
Cools very well indeed, is quiet, and have yet to get any water out of the built in water tank. I guess running the truck with the ac on prior to stopping draws the moisture from the air, making it so that the portable ac unit can just cool and not dehumidify.
Here is a link to it on Lowes website.

Quick update a couple of 85-91 degree days.
Spoke to a guy here last night that was talking to another driver with his concerns. Apparently he put some trash into a dumpster and saw my German Shepherd in the drivers seat looking out. He said it was obvious that my truck wasn't running, and it was 91 degrees outside! They were both getting pretty close to banging on the truck door and going inside the truck stop to page me when they saw me walking back to the truck. He said he couldn't even hear the Honda running, as he was "listening for an APU" I had to show him the setup last night for him to get his head around it all.
The EU3000 ran for 11hrs yesterday, on 2 gallons of gas. AC in the truck set to 72 all day. I had the throttle set to "econ" which lowers the RPM's considerably when not under a load. I also had the batteries hooked up to the 12 volt outlet.
Been set like that since Friday afternoon, so I had 4.5hrs Friday, 11hrs yesterday. Imagine my surprise when my low voltage disconnect started beeping at me last night just before bedtime!
Started the truck for 1/2hr to charge the batteries up then headed to bed after reading the owners manual for the generator.
Here is what I found regards the 12v dc outlet:
"Econ throttle switch OFF: 12amp output"
"Econ throttle switch ON: 4 amp output (Do not use AC output)"
Oops
Looks like I should have read the manual a little more than I did huh? Today will be with the Econ turned off for a while for me to charge the batteries a little.
Will update later, but so far, I believe it to be the best $2500 I have spent on any truck I have owned.

Rob, you did indeed tell me mate, and you were 110% correct!
Many thanks for the compliments too.
Scottie, I think you meant 8000BTU, not 8000 watts?
I also noticed it can make a big difference as to which way the vents are pointing. When watching a movie, I had it facing the bunk area mainly. When sat up front, had it facing the driving area (I have no passenger seat, just a dig bed where it once was).
Will be ordering the rooftop ac within a week or so, just need to decide on the Coleman Roughneck (13,500BTU) or the Dometic Commercial (13,500BTU). Looks like Coleman wont warranty the Polar Cub (9200BTU) for use on a big truck, so that may be out. Read that the Dometic Commercial is the choice of coach builders, and the prices seem comparable from what I have read. Looks like they are all 5600BTU heaters though, so hoping that is enough for the cab.
Rob, you mentioned a remote thermostat to make it heat better I think? Details on that mate please?
Will wire the ac in permanently, then have 2 shore power plugs at the rear of the cab near the generator. 1 for the ac, 1 for everything else. Also looked at a pretty nice battery maintainer for $89 at Northern Tool a week or so back too, so that will get wired in I think.

8000 BTU's yes thank you lol.
My dog stays on the lower bunk, I live upstairs, the vents point up to the top bunk, stays very chill up there. I have 2 fans that catch A/C and point at the pup, she stays comfortable with that plus the 'trickle down' affect of cool air sinks. -
I just bought a new truck (to me anyways) that has the Willis on it and it works great. I like the fact that you don't lose any space inside sense it uses the factory ducting and fan.
scottied67 Thanks this.
