Saw a truck at a shipper today that had a tank on the outside of the truck that read "Kerosene for APU only." How does this work? Is it just for the heat side of the APU or does it run the AC too? Would you fuel at a kerosene pump near the RV side of a truck stop? Is it covered under most company fuel cards?
APU that runs on kerosene?

Looks like the sign reads “ for apu heater only” kerosene burns cleaner than diesel.
bzinger Thanks this. -
I would guess that it's probably for an espar or wabasto heater and those units like kerosene.
Truck looks like a k@b unit and they probably fill the tank at the terminal. -
The sign I see reads, “Absolutely no washer fluid, oil or any other kind of fluid in this compartment.”bzinger Thanks this.
