Twice now, in a row, either I am getting a flip or a box put on a chassis and one of the rear locks will be turned and the box is sitting on top of it. Of course, being the good little driver I am, I leave the lift area to get out of the way and don't see it until I get out to secure my pins. So I have to use my hammer and crowbar (and a little spray lithium grease) and turn it. That or get in line again.
I know my locks are turned correctly when I get in line so it has to be the lift operator, right?
Argh, I says. Argh!

Argh. Twice in row already!

Maybe since your Ebola Guy, he just tries to put it on there as quick as he can, just to get away from you !!!!?????
Ebola Guy, Puppage, jbatmick and 1 other person Thank this. -
Don't they have a lock on the handle?
-
On our chassis, they lock closed but not open.
-
Bungie hook them open?
-
Happen to me too expect the lift guy would honk at me to unlock it. I think when we turn the chassis the lock turn and lock in place
-
Yeah, this guy didn't honk or anything. I think he was new or newly learning the lift, he had a heck of a time getting the box on and me being jostled around like a doll and all.
-
depends on the mood of the lift operator. Most of the depot guys will honk or hop out and correct it themselves. The ramp guys it depends on their mood and whether or not they know/like the driver.
-
Being a lift operator myself, sometimes its fairly easy to turn the lock while trying to put the container on, especially on an older chassis that the locks will turn on if you barely touch it. If it took him a minute the he more than likely turned the lock and didn't see it. If I turn it myself, I'll be more than happy to get down and turn it back straight if I can't fix it with the container.

If the pin is slightly hanging up go about 5mph and pull down the Johnny bar and lock up the chassis, it should jar it enough to turn the pin.
