I'm really enjoying this thread NSB. I hope you keep it up! I'm in school now in Houston and definitely interested in Arnold. I've sent in an app and called, left a message with student recruiter. Sounds like you've hit your stride with em.

Left out this morning after catching some waves with my son this morning. I4 in Orlando was terrible as usual. Then after a drop and hook in Jax, I realized my windshield washer was not working. So I'm at the Jax yard until they can fix it sometime tomorrow. It's a safety issue so I couldn't put it off. Two side notes of completely different and unrelated thought: 1) My daughter took 4th place in her fist surf contest this weekend(she's awesome), and 2) never eat spicy grisley Mcbites(they are all kinds of suck). This is my short week and I should be home Fri.. Hope to get the washers fixed and make some $$ this week.

Good Luck at ARNOLD orientation..............if you don't like being SCREAMED at...yes, I said SCREAMED at by a "CLERK" that gives the orientation, you won't like it! This girl is only a clerk but she's far worse than any drill instructor I ever had in the Marines! She was very unprofessional, showed no respect to anybody!........everybody in the class was shocked that an employee would scream at prospective employees like that!
I'm sure the PRESIDENT of ARNOLD has no idea she acts like that because anytime a manager or other employee walked in the class she acted "normal"!

Governed @ 65, prepass/ezpass yes, advances yes(Im not sure on max, I don't use them), they give you a company fuel card(mastercard ) for most things, transfund checks for jumpers(although alto of freight is d&h or prepaid.
Taking a load of straw to PA. I've kept moving since Mon.
Sorry to hear you got"yelled @". Did she hurt your feelings too?
These "clerks" give the same orientation to 20 folks a week and most can't follow simple directions, lie or are just plain clueless. And who cares how ONE person you will probably never interact with again acts.
Maybe you reminded her of her ex. I'm just sayin', a devildog such as yourself might consider
that he's been through more in life(thank you for your service) and
let it go. Anyway, I found out today my wife has walking pneumonia and is on strong antibiotics/steroids and the good cough syrup. Glad to have an awesome group of friends and my mom to help out while I'm on the road. Remember " It's not serious, unless you're coughing up blood."

This is what I want to hear out of a driver! I have a dear friend who has a similar attitude although he does seem to go unhinged a little more than the original poster and has been a heavy influence on me and encouraging the cdl classes.

Sitting on a 34 so I can have enough hours to work toward home. I would only have had 8 hrs and when your on recap, the runs you get are shorter and I think it would take longer to get home than just sitting for a day and getting 70. Funny story, after the hay was unloaded, I dropped the trailer and took a load up to PA to go on the train. Well, the railyard doesn't keep empties there so the next day(I was out of hours and minutes and stayed in a Cummins dealer lot. Next morning went on an Easter Egg hunt(what I call looking for an empty trailer) and ended up going back to Md and getting the trailer that had the hay in it. The guard was sounding like he wasn't going to let me take an MT so I told him about the hay and that they wanted me to take it to get it cleaned. He looked in the back, took a whiff and said to get the trailer out of there.HaHa
When I got to the shipper, Opened the doors and let it air out overnite, swept it out again and it was fine. Dropped that load in Richmond and got a paper load to Ohio. Delivered a day early and amazingly fast forklift guy had me unloaded in 15 min. .Thanks to that, I should be home this weekend.
