NSB! I too am a native and current resident of the 32168! I am currently with Stevens Transport but I just got off the phone with a recruiter after submitting my application. Reading your posts has gotten me excited to make the switch to Arnold. Home time at Stevens is a joke... At best it's every five weeks.
When you come home you just bobtail down from JAX? Do you get charged for those miles? -
Congrats ! I bobtail home from Jax or Orlando and no, they don't charge me. When I get a load out off hometime, they pay those miles as deadhead (.33/mile same as loaded).
Getting PM done on my truck now. Hometime this weekend and next. Celebrating my 10th wedding anniversary and my son's 9th birthday. Had to sit for a couple days over the holiday. Got a 34 and layover pay and apparently I have an invisible sign only reefer drivers can see that says" park next to me" The last two nights I parked with many open spots and a few hours later,BOOM, or should I say, BBBRRRRRRBBRBRRRRRRRBBBB. WTF ?!! I moved both times but seriously.Last edited: Sep 6, 2012

I have totally enjoyed reading your experience with Arnold. Thank you for your honesty. This will be my second time attending a certified school. My first was Chattanooga State in 2003, drove for 4 years and then my husband passed away. Well needless to say that took some time to get over. ####, 5 years I stayed off the road. Well I'm ready to get back at it. So I got approved for a scholarship through WorkSource and will be starting at FSCJ here in Jax October 22nd. My choice because who the heck would hire someone who has been off for 5 years? So, I have decided to fill out an application at Arnold. I like the fact that you can bob tail home from Jax Terminal. I live off of CR 210 3 miles from the TA and Pilot.
Good Luck to you out there GearJammer!! -

At some point a guy showed up with a reefer, backed in next to me, unhooked, and parked on the othe side nose in so he wouldn't have to listen to it.
