If I remember correctly from when i worked at arnold from 2010-2011 the terminal in chester is an abilene motor express terminal.
Had a nice 3 day hometime. Made my drops in VA and got heads west just in time to miss a tornado.Had to backtrack 30 miles because I didn't have enough fuel to make my fuel stop. Dropped in PA and made it to Alcoa as my 14 ran out. Slept there, got up @ 230 this morning and made two drops today in OH. Made it to the hook with 13 min left on my 14. Load tomorrow heading to TX. I'm gonna stop in Grand Prairie and get new prepass and toll passes. The ones on my truck(which used to be a USX truck) have been turned off. I had to take off interstate roads through OH. Managing your hours(and minutes) is VERY important on Elogs. Oh, and I was able to help a Celadon driver not crush a car yesterday. He had started a 45 back into the dock and a car snuck by on his blindside then stopped right in the path of his tractor. I was pointing and at first he yelled he was good(he thought they had gone around). I was insistent and he GOALed. When he saw the car he was VERY thankful and apologetic. I told him it was all good and I hoped someone would do the same for me. Watch out for each other out here!
Thanks for sharing your experiences, it's really nice to hear the positive side of the industry for a change. I'm about halfway thru my CDL training and am really excited about hitting the open road. I spent six years shunting for CN Rail here in Canada and did some other stuff between then and now but I spent alot of time around trucks growing up. I come from a long line of truk drivers. Now my kids are all grown and gone and I'm on ME time. I have full support from my wife (she's considering her CDL too) and hope to maybe become an O/O team in the future. Your posts have been truly inspiring, thanks again and be safe out there.

Enjoying your posts, GearJammer! keep 'em coming! How long was orientation? and it was in Jax, right? Good Luck!
Thanks for the great posts GearJammer. Could you tell us about the rider policy and the pet policy? My wife wants to ride along full time and would need to have her very small dog with her.
Orientation was in Jax. 3 days. Small dogs and riders are OK. Dropped my load at the GP terminal, hot shower and headed down to Houston. My last load was cool. Interiors for Peterbilt trucks. Real light. Helped a PAM driver into her spot last night. She just went solo and was really struggling. I find I have more trouble with wide open easy backs than tight tough ones. I don't know if it's overconfidence or lack of reference points. Just gotta keep working on it and be patient.
