We recently received a QC msg advising of a pending pay raise,no details, but may be an "October Surprise". One driver I spoke with last night in GP claimed it would be .03 per mile. That would be nice...

Is that a raise,
or just replacing what they took away......? -
Beats me. I've only heard the stories from drivers who were here a few years ago.

Now it's October, so I'm waiting to see if we will get a qc msg with the big announcement, detailing the promised pay raise. Heading out today, so probably wont be back on here til next week to update.

It's a bad joke. They call it the "bump-the-dock" program. AFTER your 5th load of the week, they retroactively add $15 to the loads. But if you are running sub-300mi loads, that's small comfort. This week, after empty in Houston Monday morning, sat til I could pick up in Conroe at 1800 for Baton Rouge del at 1500 Tuesday. Then, I sat until Thursday for a 51mi DH to Reserve going to Monroe LA (51+233), Reloaded in Monroe to DFW (281). Now home with a Ft Smith for Monday. (23mi DH from Garland to GP and 287 to Ft Smith).
So, even if I get the xtra $75 + $35 for one day layover, 1200ish mi for the week at .33 is pathetic.123456 Thanks this. -
This week is starting like last week. I emptied in Ft Smith yesterday morning, but no reload. So now I'm back home and will be filing unemployment this morning. Not quitting, just doing what I need to do to keep the bills paid when it seems Arnold has little or no freight. Kinda tough to get the bonus since it requires 5 loads a week....

No load today. Have a preplan picking up in Durant,OK tomorrow going to Mtn Home,AR for Thurs morn. That's 100 dh and 361 loaded. 461mi from Mon to Thurs. I'm glad I filed the unemployment claim. Food Stamps are an option too if this continues. Cancelling all insurance coverages would save $55 a week...

I guess I griped enough, so I got a 3150 mi week this time. USX Family Dollar dedicated still looks like a tempting prospect.

I'm now calling the non-raise "bump-the-dock" deal a "Hump-the-Dock" program. A "terminal transfer", where you drop one at the yard, does not count. Nor does doing a local live load that you bring to the yard. I guess it's a way to appease the drivers who do nothing but 200-300 mi trips all week. I fight for longer runs (400mi+) meaning I may not make the 5-load min to get the bonus....
