    Yet there's more to life than chasing the almighty dollar, IMO anyways. I used to stay out months at a time running 48 and Canada. Best thing I ever did was getting the home weekends job I have now. Money isn't quite as good but I'll deal with it.

    I've been on government contracts where you stay out 3-4 months straight. They pay great and you get to see parts of the country you'd never even think of driving in.

    id say 5k a week for 8 hours mostly less than 8 a day off on weekends is better than anytime staying out on the race track IMO but thats just me

    Doing what I do I am out generally 10 months out of the year, take about 6 weeks off in the winter, give or take.I like what I do though.

    I put 3 weeks as it is the LONGEST I'm WILLING to stay out. If I had a choice it would be one week but currently do not

    Prior to coming to this company 4-6 weeks. My 1st tour of duty here, I left home the day after Thanksgiving, returned a few days before Valentines Day. Right thru Christmas and New Years...and it wasn't worth it. Never again will I miss Christmas unless there is a bonus with at least 4 digits between the dollar sign and the decimal point minimum.
