Is that the main drop yard to service the Virginia area? Looking to move out of Jersey, that's why I ask.

Yeah but I don't think they're looking for anymore guys out of there... It's just 3 of us, I do know they're opening up a new drop lot in Columbia SC and could be looking for guys out of there. If you go apply in Advance, they run basically from Eastern TN, East KY, East and Southern WV, Most of Virginia, NC and SC..

I was thinking about applying at Ashley myself, out of Arcadia. I talked to several current and former drivers (from Arcadia Yard), LTL and truckload both, and the killer for me is that they claim they are basically home for a 34 hour restart, and seldom home for more than 40 hours a week. That is their main gripe, but that is a deal breaker for me.

It's good to know that they have that much freight, but cmon 34 hours why even unpack your bags?

Other than that they have great equipment and great benefits...For now I'll stick with working for a mom and pop and 2-3 days off per week until I find something better. Even for $80,000+ per year that isn't worth giving up my sanity.

I'm losing my sanity... the kicker for me is the new time off policy. The funny part, most of the company get full weekends, not if you're out of arcadia though. Some guys :cough: Advance,NC :cough: think we have it easy because we know all the girls in the office cause were here all the time... ha, they couldn't be more wrong!!!

Unpaid time off was unlimited to use, within reason. A few guys (roughly 24 from what I understand) were reallllly abusing it. So now we get 5 days, per year. So if you're an Arcadia driver, after 1 year you get 5 days vacation and 5 unpaid days, and 34-40hours off on a reset.

Wow. I've always said I'd consider Ashley if something happened at my current employer, but that policy has changed my outlook.
