Thanks househunter!! I'm going to be going to Northampton CC and taking their program starting next month...not sure if they would consider that school or not. I tried calling today however I couldn't get a hold of anyone. If you do happen to find out anything about whether or not they are hiring student drivers and from the school I will be attending I would greatly appreciate it!

I think the key is the number of students in the truck during training. LCTI and BCTI have 1 student at a time in the truck during driving sessions. I was told, (not certain) that LCCC school had up to 4 students in the truck at the same time with each student having a small amount of time behind the wheel.

Well I'm going to have to find out how NCC operates...im signed up, however if I am sharing wheel time with multiple students for $4,000 tuition, I will be going elsewhere lol.

Does anyone know what the health insurance deductible is or what the options are? And what the max out of pocket is? I talked to a recruiter today but she didn't know anything other than the premium price. And I'm not sure if that included vision or dental.

Do you ever do ANY live loading or unloading with PTP?

you'll get the occasional live load / unload. depends more on the area you're in and which DC you're running out of for the week. some areas are more prone for live than others.

my numbers from the spreadsheet by load one end or the other.....rarely ever both..... so far this year are:

    Jan 30 loads 7 live
    Feb 35 loads 11 live
    Mar 30 loads 5 live
    Apr 35 loads 4 live

average time on dock is 1.75hrs. live are paid as a drop or hook. they're pretty good about staying on the customers to get us in and out. in the event you are held up for a period longer than 2hrs then it's a case by case basis on additional payment depending on time. I had one that I showed up 30 minutes early for the appointment and then was kept 7hrs to load and they paid a layover for it and charged it back to the customer.....but that was an anomaly. usually we're in and out pretty quick.

Vision and dental run about 10.48 a week, separate ins

Co-pays I think are 75. I am guessing--I do not use there ins.

Live loads can depend greatly on location that u run, this week for my self I have 1 live load, and I know what I am running the rest of the week, the live load today took 2 hrs which is about avg, some are as short as 45 mins, and some can be more of course. The rest of my work week is all drop and hook----:)

There also of course live unloading, for me avg again about 2 hrs, sometimes longer and shorter

pretty strong miles week again but weak on drops nothing but long ones.

    3380 for the week and 8 d/h

    advance to Brandon
    Brandon to tampa to Columbia
    Columbia to advance deadhead
    advance to arcadia
    arcadia to advance

uneventful week nothing but long running.

monthly numbers came in strong again but a pretty noticeable slowdown in freight last 2 weeks of the month even though I still ran strong. longer wait times between loads, talked to a few guys doing some sitting and waiting and got more and longer deadheads last 2 weeks of the month

    monthly for april:

13713 paid on 13883 actual for a variance of 1.8%
    avg length of haul 371
    avg wt / load 19339
    38 loads
    4 live loads
    earnings for month 5956.63
    avg rate/mile all miles .453
    avg miles/wk for month 3047

still pretty consistent month to month since first of the year. only real change this month is a little lower rate/mile for all miles due to the greater than average deadhead miles last 2 weeks of the month and loss of drop pay on those trips.
