LMAO. No problem pal. That's part of being a "SUPERTRUCKER". Shift smooth and silent any way all the time. All it takes is practice AND THE WILL.

Supertruckers. That terms gets thrown around alot these days doesn't it. Why do some employees always feel the need to mock, belitlle or diminish the effort put forth by people that want to master their craft? I bet this new breed could shift like a pro if it was on a video game.

most steering wheel stick shift strokers like to start off in 2nd or 3rd gear empty, loaded, heavy loaded whatever, this is why companies are going to autos because the typical steering wheel stick shift strokers burn up clutches.

Yeah Scotty there are lazy, direspectful people in manuals too. And if they take out a clutch they will soon be one of them automatic steering wheel holders. That's kind of like I said earlier......auto's are for lazy truck drivers and everyone gets what they deserve in life.

This has to be one of the more enjoyable discussions, I mean truckers really value our ability to shift, and anyone who questions it, well look out.

Shifting is more of an emotion and facts don't really matter that much, and even though I drive an AMT, I fully admit that I would love to have a Pete 389 with a C-15 and an 18 speed tranny, pulling oversized freight.

So why do I drive an AMT? Because it came with my new company truck and it helps me easily max out my fuel bonus and achieve the top pay rate at my company. It's a tool, and since I use a skillsaw vs a hand saw to cut wood, it's the same to me.

But as I said, it's an emotional issue for many and I expect some will quit the industry before moving to automated shifting.

No one is mocking anyone for wanting to "master their craft"... The mocking is coming from the "masters" to those who opt to use different equipment and could not actually care less what you wish to drive.

Just like your comment about video games. Who is mocking who? then to turn around and claim to be the victim of mockery and judgement.

    Too Funny.

Enjoy the equipment you wish to drive...
But please leave the judgement at home.

Funny, several of our drivers have 30+ years of driving... They will chuckle at the thought of being a lazy truck driver... LOL

For heavy traffic, say, anywhere near Los Angeles, the autoshift is a blessing. For those that would say that "Real Truckers" don't use them because they are for softies, feel free to reinstall your walking beam/leaf spring drive suspensions. That is all.
