    Quick note...

The reason some release handles are right or left handed, is just an option, the same with landing gear crank handles. Right being pssenger side, left being the driver side.

3 things to check after hooking to trailer, jaws closed around kingpin . No space(daylight) between trailer plate and 5th wheel plate. Handle is retracted back IN !!!!

There is no reason to slam into the kingpin, firm does NOT mean 20 MPH !!!

Often overlooked item, wear on the kingpin.........

I've done that too, set brakes and back into the 5th wheel so the release won't pull out.

Yeah last night I slept at the rest stop I-5 S at Camp Pendleton. I heard a loud boom and the truck was rocking. So I jumped up put on my sh8t kickers and grabbed the flashlight but it turned out to be the Marines playing a game of let's play 4th of July with bombs lol.

I don't care WHAT someone has done. Pulling the pin is a cowardly, stupid and dangerous thing to do. If you have a beef with someone, and you are too dumb to let it go, at least have a pair of balls and confront him in person. Don't be a low life yellow scumbag coward and screw with their truck.

    That is just despicable!:biggrin_25510:

Schneider supposedly got rid of the Trolley after a tard tried to use it to slow the truck going down a big hill, burned the trailer brakes, and cracked it up. Now they have a trailer hold switch on the dash to check the brake lights and slide tandems. Since it's either on or off and doesn't put out enough force to really slow the truck there's less temptation to use it as a stand in for the brake pedal.

Could well be. Instead of getting rid of it, they should have fired that driver, man, that's a dumb thing to do. Wonder what he was thinking?:biggrin_2555:

My Volvo doesn't have one. It is a handy thing for drying out trailer brakes in freezing rain situations. Dry them out before you park for the night also............

my volo has it, but its in the oddest place i have ever seen....almost looks like a shifter sticking out next to my real shifter on the dash...

I don't have a tandem release handle. I SWEAR, i will never pull anything with a tandem release arm again!

I love the trolley valve, the old mack dump trucks I drive all have them and I use it all the time when I'm dumping a load.
