Backing and CDL Mnemonics (Memory Techniques)

    1. Backing - Turn away from the obsticale you want to avoid.
    2. Backing - Turn toward the direction you want the trailer to go.
    3. Backing - Right is left and left is right (turn right trailer goes left; turn left trailer goes right).
    4. Almost everything you're supposed to check requires inspection for the same three things: ensure it's not cracked, damaged, or loose. Cracked, Damaged, or Loose. CDL.
    5. Tires go by an ABC mnemonic: abrasions, bulges/bumps, or cuts.
