A Rocky set is a longbox and a pup, which may or may not have the pup in the lead depending on whether or not the longbox is empty.
@road_runner has experience with these.D.Tibbitt, 25(2)+2, Deere hunter and 2 others Thank this. -
Now I just need to figure out how to wire it *facepalm*skytrash Thanks this.

Deere hunter Thanks this. -

Deere hunter and Long FLD Thank this. -
Run the mountain west region. See all sorts of sets. Not uncommon to see dual 53’s or 53/45, dual 45’s and 53 and pups.D.Tibbitt, Deere hunter and Cattleman84 Thank this.

It's quite amazing how our names gets intertwined outside of LTL forum. But yes, you can pull a standard Rocky set with a 48 foot with a 28 foot pup in the back.
Now legally speaking, I've pulled a light or even empty 48 foot behind a 22k pup. It looks awkward as ###$ and the turn radius sucks. But you can not have your back box weigh more than your front box.Last edited: Apr 26, 2020
Roberts450, Cat sdp and okiedokie Thank this. -
Heavy in the back would be bad news. Pulling triples once inawhile a 102" box in front and 98" boxs to the rear. Can't see the two rear boxes going straight. Perfect.alds Thanks this.

I've pulled them backwards before. We call it running out of sync. The benefits of a quick hook doesn't offset the pain in the arse of the constant trailer sway, and yes, this set or triples will.sway like a flag.okiedokie Thanks this.
