PA has the highest IFTA in the entire country yet their roads are junk. Indiana's toll road is one of the worst I have ever seen AND they charge you to use it in that condition. I absolutely refuse to use it!

Brainiac Martin O'Malley couldn't figure out, that if you left the truck toll more reasonable, you'd get more trucks=more revenue, not a forced toll, there's a way around. This is the same Governor that imposed a huge tax on Maryland millionaires. Simple, they all moved to Virginia. Lost that revenue stream. He was also the creator of the infamous "Rain Tax". Luckily, that was the final straw,he's gone, and the whole country has now seen what a A1 Jackazz he is,he can't get elected to dogcatcher anymore. Good riddance.

I haven't seen any politician do any sensible law that would benefit general population. They all can go to hell imo, but that's another thread, another time

NC is right up there with money grabbing politicians. I-77 north out of Charlotte is a disaster. After years of finally building more lanes north of the city to handle explosive growth, they decided they wanted a toll road. Citizens said no way, but in true NC (and Charlotte) fashion they ignored their constituents. So, we can't build a toll road on an existing road? NO PROBLEM ... anyone going through there can see they tore out the two left lanes of the relatively recently built road, so then can now toll the lanes that will replace them. And as usual the contract goes to the Spanish company that have declared bankruptcy on many of the toll roads it has leased from various states over the years. They form a separate corporate subsidiary for each project and research will show the individual bankruptcies. The northern roads were the first to go with this company and the complaints about the conditions of those roads are easy enough to find, or for us drivers, to verify in person as we pay ever increasing tolls to a foreign company.
I think the final insult to the citizens is when one of the NC officials made a public statement how "everyone living north of Charlotte has plenty of money and they will be more than happy to pay to take the toll lanes to get home faster". Pretty broad statement, everyone north has plenty of money ... goes to show we are nothing more than a source of funds to so many of them in all levels of government.mitmaks Thanks this. -

I'm going from Richmond VA, to Philly. I see a toll road or 2 through D.C./Baltimore. Do I need an EZ-Pass and roughly how much am I looking at? Price update?
