Second that.
US Bank has been a solid partner for a decade plus now. For good reasons too.Dan.S, Oxbow and wyodispatchgirl Thank this. -
We have a credit union now, but finding
Why? Were they terrible? -
For national checking / ATM / Debit services, a National bank can be good. That's not banking, that's a checking account.
Banking is where you have a relationship with a company (not a loan officer, a company) who knows your business, and who helps you succeed with their services. Loans, perhaps, sure, but also an independent professional perspective on your business. That means a guy that'll tell you that you aren't ready to (expand, buy a new truck, extend credit to a new customer, etc). National banks are completely incapable of this, since they only SELL DEBT.
Credit unions are ok for personal stuff and business checking, but are generally charter-limited from dealing with business of any size.
In my experience, for banking, a locally owned and managed regional bank is by far preferred. They are, ideally, interested in having successful customers, rather than just push debt products.SL3406, D.Tibbitt, wyodispatchgirl and 1 other person Thank this. -
I think you hit the nail on the head here. We don't have a relationship with a local bank. We are using a credit union, but they have no clue about trucking and really are not set up for businesses. I do think I'll look for regional banks. Thanks!!

Why do you all think they need to know about trucking, these are commercial loans and they need to be convince your a good risk based on what limits that risk in your plans when you asked for capital.

I've used eTrade Bank for decades. They've rendered excellent service and they have a full range of offerings. Their money market checking/savings account is free of any fees, they have a fee-free debit card, and ATM withdrawals are fee free at any ATM (they don't charge anything and they reimburse whatever fee the ATM owner charges, if any).
The Comcheck issue doesn't matter - if you direct deposit via Comdata, to any bank it looks like any other such funds transfer.easytopleez33 and Jazz1 Thank this. -
I love my small local owned bank, only 3 branches. I walk in and the bank manager looks up from his desk and say's "Hi Steve" as I walk past his office, that's cool, very cool.
D.Tibbitt, whoopNride and blairandgretchen Thank this.
