Why didn't you have them fax or e-mail them to you.

By the way sounds like your bank needs to be dumped I was able to do everything needed for my dispute over the phone.
They also have online disputes available.

Small local banks and statewide only banks offer a superior service. I'm even more satisfied with my local bank than I was with our credit union.

 

Agreed - been with them 10+ years now. With the business we've conducted through them (rentals and trailers) they waive monthly fees. Very easy to deal with.

 

Yes you can, but what if the files you saved are on your laptop? With a cloud based backup then you can use any electronic device to access your files.

 

I wasn't addressing anything about backing up files. You don't need to access any files to jump on your phone an use menu prompts and or speak to a representative to take care of you banking needs. This how I did it up until about 2yrs ago.

 

But at some time you should Reconcile your checkbooks and statements.

I tend to keep all past statements for 10 years for anything. I save them as PDF's and backed up to a cloud service.

 

I wouldn't put anything on the cloud.
Safer to backup to your own external hd or usb stick.

 

Cloud is secure.. So,,, someone breaks into your truck and takes your laptop and External HD... so now you are back to square one.

You can also use DropBox which moves the files to folder accessed by only those you give permission too.

When you are on the road, trucks can be and have been broken into, crashed, caught on fire, etc etc. Secure your data by any means external to the truck so it can be recovered with no data loss to yourself.

 

Who said anything about keeping the backup hard drive in the truck ? You could backup to USB drive that you hide in the truck and then you keep another backup hard drive at home that you update whenever you come to the house. Not that difficult.

If you aren't terribly paranoid you can just update the external at home whenever you come through the house. But if you're going to be on the road for long periods of time, more than say two weeks, you can always hide a USB in your truck it's a small device and can easily be made hard to find.

 

Yep ,or you can do things old school and not worry about all the tech bs lol.
Man how did we ever make with out all the tech.
By the way you can also send all data to your home base by way of the ol interweb and back it up when you get there.

By the way I've been securing my personal info without loss while on the road 27yrs now.
I still deal with most stuff ol school, I don't need to worry bout if any tech based bs goes off line or anything else.
I have not left myself dependt on tech
