In the local days, you would just take the freight back to the dock, unload it and when they ran out deliver it. Had a friend that got kicked out of a place for throwing rocks at the crane operator

Just changing the "h" in "shipper" in the title to "tr" reflects real-life experience.

Had a similar issue once. Dropped a load at a site and picked up a stack of three empty flatbed trailers. All three trailers had the same name on them as was on the side of my truck, but the security guard said I couldn't leave without a material pass. I did. :D

Repowered a beer load from another driver and delivered it. Company policy was that I had to sit in a little room while they unload the beer. Some time later they came and told me I had to come help unload it because some of the pallets fell over spilling beer cans all over the place.

I declined to help so the guy called my company claiming I cussed them out and would be banned from ever delivering there again.

Stuff like this is why I have a bodycam with me at all times.

Don't know what the policy is now, when we deliverd to distributers , they would have a can of beer in there hand.

Just this week, I ran late for a reload appt at a customer. Shipper was a real dick about. 2 hours. He says, another typical trucker.....hope you have a good excuse for being late. Told him yep, I do. Just left your house, your wife wouldn’t let me leave!
