If I ever become a company driver, I'm going to ask for an extra $100 more per week if I have to touch a clutch. Maybe I can present it as an accessorial like tarp pay. Something to help offset the cost of a knee replacement.

Way things are going now, if you even mentioned a clutch they'd likely look at you like you had six heads.

The only way a clutch will damage your knee is if your knee was already screwed up.

Even then it won't bother too much unless you're doing a lot of sitting at stop lights. My knee got screwed up a bit in a car accident when i was 17 it only bothers when I'm loading and have to do a lot of small pull ups, bet that doesn't get better as I get older though.

That depends. I hyperextended one of my knees in a game of grass-lot tackle football at age 17.

For years and years it hurt whenever I ran or exercised, but, slowly, over time it stopped hurting.

I entered the Army at 22, and the leg gave me hell again in basic training, then in AIT. I managed to get through.

For years again after that, the knee just wasn't quite right.

Slowly though, it started hurting less and less when I put stress on it.

Fast forward to me now, at 47, and I cannot even recall for certain if it was my right or left knee.

Moral of the story is that knee injuries aren't always permanent, even ones that bother you for years. Some injuries will bother you forever, but not all.

Knees.... sort of something all to familiar with.
Back in Highschool, I seriously injured my right knee, twice in the same year. Both times went to see medical types. Both times, told not to worry it was just a bad sprain, strain. Told do the usual, RICE, rest, ice, compress, elevate. Fast forward a few years. 4 weeks into basic and my knee is the size of a basketball. Off to see ortho dr. Several tests later, turns out had torn up the cartilage pretty bad. They want to do surgery. This was before all the scope stuff they do now. Well I never did do the surgery, have been to a few DRs since then. Over the years, it has done some repairs on its own. The DRs all say about the same, don’t do anything right now, because your going to have to do a knee replacment in the future.
Yeah, just what I want to look forward to.

You are lucky, sort of. A knee replacement these days is close to routine. Hold off another decade, and they might be using umbilical stem cells, your own DNA and 3D printers to generate replacement knees that are natural bone, and wont be rejected by your body.

The knee replacements they use now don't have any problems with rejection.

I know. They are not made of bone though. I'd rather have OEM parts if possible.
