    I have a few questions for you. Here we go. What do you think about the trailer pool? I'm thinking of dropping it since T2T seems never have them loaded as plan, maybe sometimes but more not than do. I can save $8,880 a year. I was also thinking of getting a refrigerated unit on my own to increase the per mile rate. I have seen some IC's with a few. What do you think? This new contract seems to be having IC's turning their trucks in and leaving. I know a few that just left and went to Landstar. Wow Do you think RR will switch back to letting us broker our own loads again?

    Also, the RR agents are so cheap with the loads that it's beyond ridiculous. I called an agent for a load and he quoted me $1.15 a mile with no FSC. I asked who's the broker and called them because I know two of the brokers really well that works there. He sent me the confirmation rate and the load paid $2.45 a mile on 745 miles. I called RR agent back to get more money on the load and states to me the guy won't budge, this is a good offer. I told him to keep the load. Wouldn't this be considered double broker/embezzlement in a sense? Just asking.

    OK everyone. Here we go. I'm about to paste why I think RR started this trailer pool and cancel IC's from booking their own loads. This has a lot to do with stock and after reading what I paste, it might enlightened your understanding as well as mine. It's all

    Roadrunner Transportation Systems, Inc. (RRTS - Snapshot Report) saw a big move in the last trading session, as the company’s shares fell by over 5% on the day. The move came on pretty good volume too with far more shares changing hands than in a normal session. This continues the recent trend for RRTS, as the stock is now down nearly 15% since Nov 24.


    The company, which acquires provides asset-light transportation and logistics services, has not seen any estimate revision over the past month, and the current year earnings consensus hasn’t been in a trend either. This recent price action is discouraging, so make sure to keep a close watch on this firm in the near future, especially on earnings estimates following the recent slump.


    RRTS currently holds a Zacks Rank #4 (Sell), while its Earnings ESP is 0.00%.
    Investors interested in the Transportation – Truck industry may consider better-ranked stocks like Knight Transportation Inc. (KNX - Snapshot Report), Landstar System Inc. (LSTR - Snapshot Report) and Old Dominion Freight Line Inc. (ODFL - Snapshot Report), each of which holds a Zacks Rank #2 (Buy).


    This may explains why the drastic move by RR. If RR can make money from Each IC's per mile without showing the original/true confirmation rate, an IC's will never know what the load actually pays. I mentioned before the RR lied to me about what the load pays and was going to make $1,000 more on a load that pays $2.45 a mile and offer me $1.15. The trailer pool cost $185 per week for a IC's which annually =$8,880 year. They may, just saying may be trying to boost their quarterly earnings since it dropped dramatically at the end of the year. Any opinions is welcome.

    Well no RR for me now I gotta stay at forward air LTL a while longer. And I was looking forward to book my own loads and make some good money.

    My thoughts on the trailer pool:

    1. Good concept
    2. I don't like the unknowns like pulling a trailer the previous driver(s) curbed tires or bent doors or dropped with other defects like holes in roof, sides, mudflaps, inspections registrations missing lights burned out etc. ie. I like having my own trailer that I know is in good shape.
    3. Another good advantage of trailer pool would be if the customer pokes holes in the trailer the contractor doesn't get stuck for the fix like what happened to me on my last load- shipper, first stop and final all denied poking a hole in the roof so I am stuck with the cost of fixing it.
    4. Reefer is even worse gamble with T2T I can see these dope smoking beer swillers causing all kinds of damage.

    Do I think RR will go back to us booking our own freight? I really hope so. I re-read the contract and my understanding is the percentage is terrible. I opted not to use the cargo insurance option which moves my percentage down to 88% from 92%. The wording in the contract seems to state that our rate is again 12% below that then the next consecutive outside load is paid again at a lower rate then the third consecutive outside load is rock bottom at 70% and my interpretation is again 12% less than that.

    I still like running T2T so will stick around and stay in the lanes as much as possible. Was going to book a short load with an agent before hometime - hazmat/heavy but after the cut would have only paid $1.52 which is way too weak for hazmat in my opinion.

    Like I said in another post I caught another RR agent skimming $500 bucks off my load. I found out after so I didn't complain. On the contractor webportal they used to have a load board where you could see the loads etc, there were three other loads picking up with the same commodity all within 85 miles (farms) going to the same region I was going to (similar miles) offered at $3000 bucks I was paid $2500 for mine. So it created distrust in my considering this guy was talking a good game about building relationships with his O/O's etc.

    I'm going back out tonight and will give the agents one last chance to pay right, so far that one hazmat load offer was not looking too good as far as their greed. I'll probably have more deadhead in my near future. I love running paper logs, I don't cheat the logs just don't like the constant baby monitoring of the Elogs, but I may have to look around at moving to a Landstar or F2F situation pretty soon.

    I was thinking recently about having my own Xtralease trailer with RR as well as joining the trailer pool for the extra $185x52=$9620 per year write off. The only big problem I can see is the limited room they would have for storing my trailer as I come in and drop it and leave with a pre-loaded pool trailer. That and not being able to prove or catch them ripping it up like they have already done. One place I slid the tandems all the way back and dropped it for them to dock then when I picked it up the yard dog had backed up hard into a busted parking curb that had exposed rebar. Each mudflap had a hole in it and one tire on each side had a gouge. I was doing a walk around and saw a rebar speared thru one of the mudflaps and pulled it out. Multiple rubs down the side and the hole in the roof with no one stepping forward to admit they did it is a little too much for my patience.

    I was thinking the same. I don't know much about F2F. Do they allow you to book your own loads as long as you haul some of their freight? Sounds like a good option.

    I have seen IC's standing in the yard looking @the trailer scratch on the side like this is going to cost me some money. The yard dogs don't care. They're too busy on the phone.

    I read a little about them on the forum here and there, my understanding is they are attached to Covenant Transport owner op division some way, use Elogs and can book their own loads for a percentage and or have the office staff keep load offers in front of them. Not super hip on their operation and waiting til this spring for a flat tire OOS to fall off my PSP anyway. Sucks, I was rolling across the weigh station scale and **boom** a drive tire blew right there and they put up the red light and came running out screaming "out of service!" then they wrote me up a dirty roadside inspection with points and everything. Then they tell me if it had blown out 100 yards prior or after the scale I could have called a tire repair and got it taken care of and they would look the other way.

    I can see them running out screaming. They sit in that prison of theirs starring out the window waiting to clock out. You probably scare the living life out of them while they were sleeping. I hope it all works out for you and that it doesn't hurt your PSP at all. I'm really hope they reverse this nonsense RR has going on soon.

    I was reading some of the blogs of F2F and Bill seems like a down to earth type of person. I'm going give it some time and maybe start my own authority, hell I'm halfway there anyway.
