Well, I arrive on site for my preloaded trailer and it's empty; they never loaded it. Probably won't be in tomorrow because of the holiday. Dispatch is off but are on call so hopefully the queen bee load planner can get me on something. They were like, head home and maybe you can enjoy the holiday. Uhhhhh, no. I live in the truck and on the road and I'm not interested in holidays; I just want to work.

You lost a load over a freaking hose clamp? Always carry some basic tools and parts. A 5 dollar clamp and a screw driver(or better yet 8 mm socket and ratchet), plus coolant. 15 minutes max and you would of been on the road.

Lost hose clamp twice on mine. First time the company I was with was going to send a guy out to look at it, figure $150 an hour so many hours minimum. While waiting for him I walked across the road to a shop and they had the exact clamps I needed. I bought both that they had and fixed it myself.
Couple months later see this owner op with a bad coolant leak and I look and know exactly what he needs. I walk away, he's all down and out and when I come back with the clamp he was shocked. Gave it to him for free.
Next time way up in Wisconsin, it happened again at the fuel island and the chick cashier gave me her car keys and told me to go find a shop for whatever I needed. Shop less than 5 miles away had some more clamps and fixed it myself.
Things can still be worse trust meLoose Leaf Thanks this. -

Got the APU serviced today. Turns out this APU did not come with the truck. I thought it was a beat up 2012 TriPac but it is a 2006. It has had a new ECM put in it from what the tech told me so there is no telling how many hours are actually on it. It runs great and all but I am the proud owner of a 2006 APU that probably has a lot of hours on it. Something else to keep my eye on. I was glad I brought it in though. He showed me the belt and it was on its last leg. It was cracked in places and very well worn.
