Fresh out of school, I think you have to take what you can get. Probably will wind up with a freightliner of some sort.

I really liked my Freightliner cabin. Wouldn't ever turn my nose up at one. Like em alot.
Drove a new Volvo. It's nicer.
Now driving a Pete 579. It's as nice or nicer than anything I've been in. Been told Volvo and it are the only two that fit a XL Twin mattress? I know mine will fit as much as 44 by 80. Just bought a really nice XL Twin for it. -
I dig the sleeper on this 2014 FL Cascadia, but the one time i was in 2014 Volvo 780 made me wish I was driving one more often.

Good luck...you will learn to sleep on a bed of rocks if you are getting enough miles to trire you out.
Been in all of the fleet type trucks except the Volvo. They all have some neat feature and stupid things. So it's a toss up.austinmike and truckdriver31 Thank this. -
people drove cabovers for years, those drivers are very successful. so sleeper style doesnt make you a great driver. bust your tail for 18 hours and any bed would do. jsLast edited: Mar 12, 2019

Most major, and even minor, OTR companies have condo sleepers. It's basically a "two-story" sleeper with bunk beds. i don't think a solo driver needs a condo sleeper, but that's what most companies have.

Flatbeds are often midroof/hi-rise. It works for me and I'm 6'2". I can stand full height in the Prostar/LT.

i don't want to comment on "best," but i was in a contractor's Western Star sleeper and it was pretty cozy. It was a mid-roof (non-condo), i think?
Also, THE most comfortable sleeper i had believe it or not was a freightliner fld 120 FLATTOP 72", not a condo, a flattop. It may have been 70"? Whatever the next size up from the standard 48" was.
Really, my biggest pet-peeve with today's sleepers is the curtain doesn't block out all the light----along with the cuttout patches that go over the windows. How about putting a wall and a door in between the cab and sleeper?tommymonza and Midnightrider909 Thank this. -
I wasnt knocking freightliner, just pointing out most starting companies use freightliner.
