That is the key right there! Many of them don't even realize they don't know. They hang around the truckstop Lunch Counter believing every bit of crap that they're told. They've got those 2 Toothless guys at the counter who had 15 jobs in the last year-and-a-half and it's always everybody else's fault.

I want to see an OTR driver do local Heavy Haul and not run over anything.

 

I don't think either one is cut out for the other's job. I wouldn't want to deal with restricted routes and low bridges in my city, that's for sure.

 

No,he isn't! Local driver is NOT a trucker in my opinion. Local driver is like factory worker. He goes to work everyday,he drives the same area all the time in the middle lane well under speed limit (I hate them for doing that),at the end of his shift he goes home just like any other worker.A trucker lives in his truck,has to find a place to park at the end of his shift and more often than not goes to places he has never been too.Local driver is not a trucker.Period.

 

Boo hooo.We do your job! And not in single axle daycabs with 48 ft trailers but in sleeper trucks and with 53 ft trailers.

 

Well then, even though my company considers me linehaul, I guess I'm not a trucker. Oh well.

 

Well,you can still become one if you get a real trucking job-)
