Big G Express

Hi. I have a year and a half experience. Not the best driver out there but not the worst average I guess. I talked to other Big G drivers in the lounge. Some of them have good managers. The first one I told him I got fired and bad DM and he knew who it was he said he had him the first year at the company. The dm quit the same week I got fired but I had other bad ones when he wasnt working. I had to get up at night do over 60 in a blizzard everyone else doing 45 because its not safe. Just constantly being rushed and given bad time schedules for no reason.

You never have to get 50 gallons anymore but they would send me to the worst truck stops waiting two hours to fuel so they can get a penny a gallon cheaper than down the street but it let me fuel outside of my assigned fuel solution.

Sadly this bad management is common. With Pam I had a good DM. Never rushed. The pay is just low otr unless you can get out west but it goes by where you live. Ironically all the places big g sent me are also pam places. If you are out of Florida terminal (which doesnt exist they have no physical terminsl but they have a florida division) if you out of florida with pam you will be in pennsylvania every week except a rare trip to texas once a month or two which is the only time you get miles. Everyone talks bad about Pam and they never pick up the phone, dont want to pay repair bills, trucks break down all the time, $800 a week average running 70 hours otr but has been the best one sadly.

Big G would be good if they hired more managers, got more good ones and listen to drivers. When I got fired the dispatchers talked about how stupid their truckers are and were saying its an easy job but somehow half their truckers are idiots. Thats the mindset of dispatch. None of them ever drove a truck. If they changed the culture would be good. They have good clients they dont buy much off a load board they haul starbucks, jack daniels, a few others, trailers and trucks in really nice shape, 68 is good speed for me. Just when I took the job I didnt find many recent reviews didnt know what to expect.
