I've never dealt with those 17.5s but looks like he musta been having a heck of a time with it and get really angry. Inside tire I wouldn't really worry about it
Jarhed1964 and shooter19802003 Thank this. -
It looks like they started to put tire on from the wrong side of the wheel then when they were told they were doing it wrong, they tried to beat it on with a steel tire hammer?

Jarhed1964 Thanks this. -
TA would be buying me a new wheel if that belonged to me. Unacceptable.
Jarhed1964, jason6541, feldsforever and 2 others Thank this. -
I think there's a lesson to be learned here. With the shortage of good mechanics, for QUALIFIED outfits, I'd have to think an outfit like a truckstop takes any breathing person they can get, and this is what happens. I can hear the interview now,,"Ever work in a tire shop"? "Well, I took back a bunch of soda bottles once", "You're hired",,,I know I kid, but actually a very serious problem. These unqualified mechanics working on trucks? THAT'S scary. My advice, limp it to a reputable tire shop, and leave lousy coffee for the truckstops.

Discount Tire pulled that crap with my brand new pickup , .
I'm still waiting on a new rim.Jarhed1964, Bean Jr. and baha Thank this. -
Took off the rim with a jackhammer?
Looks like someone got the studs wedged sideways in the rim,
and never had that happen to them before - so didn't know how to deal with it.
Steel hammer on aluminum rim ain't cutting it.
Yeah, you can put it on the inside, but don't do it in the first place.
Gotta pry the low side out, or punch the high side in.
Find the side that's furthest out on the studs, and take a 1 ft. 2X4 and wack it on end, like a punch.
OR, - I bought a 3 foot handle Snap-On red rubber sledgehammer, just for where U need beef - with finesse.
And the lack of good help IS dangerous, but they got to get experience somewhere?
There is no mechanic apprenticeship program in TA Truck-stops.
Someone that's into dirty fingernails and diesel fumes daily, should look into their local Vo-Tech school.
I do it cause I have to, not cause I like it.Rubber duck kw Thanks this. -
Just when I think I'm having a bad day, I gotta check and see what @pavrom issues are today!!! You can't seem to get a way from problems or people tearing your stuff up man!!! Geez, you need to buy some lottery tickets my friend.
