Ever since they closed Walter Strawn Drive.... has anyone noticed a bunch of DOT activity near G4 and Elwood? I was randomly picked off yesterday on the outgate of ELWOOD and got weighed. Lol... they even did a level 3 inspection(passed...$250 bonus woo..) but what the hell! I've never seen so much DOT in my life until yesterday. I asked the officer, "What's the deal??"... he said.. "GET USED TO IT, WE GONNA BE HERE EVERYDAY" LOL................. and on my way i was. There was like 5-7 trucks pulled over on the outskirts of elwood at 6pm.
Bnsf elwood...!?

they are sick of you big trucks point blank they re did the roads in elwood downtown and some other things and big trucks going through the town was pissin them off it hasn't been recently its been like this for a couple years they even have billboards on the interstate saying take 55 to arsenal
browndawg Thanks this. -
see the problem is with truckers, well atleast the ones i know.... why so scared of the DOT?
if ya pre-trip your truck & chassis/triaxle and your paperwork is in place (LOOSELEAFS
).... then you're GOOD. I've never failed a DOT inspection and I welcome them anytime. Give me that $250 bonus any time of the day because once i'm stopped, i know that trooper will give me that clean pass.
it's those owner operators that know there's a million and one DOTable items wrong with their trucks going down that road scared ########.... lol -
they are giving inspections to make that money
JJKid Thanks this. -
Its always been like that. the reason they closed that walter strawn is to make you drive pass them on arsenal. It irritates me, if they didn't want trucks in that area, they shouldn't have allowed those rail yards to go up. I refuse to run over there anymore.

Frankly, as is the case in most government initiatives, DOT, Police, Secretary of State....there all looking for revenue under the guise of public good.

Exactly! DUI's are the perfect example of it! if they really cared about people being hurt by people that constantly drive drunk, you wouldn't hear about people that were on there 6th DUI when they killed someone.RERM Thanks this.
