bobtail miles

    hate to sound niave but...I'm bobtailing 384miles to pick up a trailer I log those miles? also when I'm bobtailing,do I have to stop @ the chicken coop when it's open?

    Yes if you're dispatched.
    Yes if you're driving a commercial vehicle.

    I've bobtailed from Laredo TX to Lathrop CA and Dallas to Lathrop on Elogs Line 5. The whole time was shown as zero miles on the Elogs. Same thing when I've bobtailed from Los Angeles back to Lathrop and Seattle to Vancouver, Yakima to Vancouver, Portland to Vancouver, Elogs doesn't see the miles, but IFTA gets theirs fo shizel.

    How do you log it? Driving, line 3, absolutely.

    Do you have to stop at the coops? That depends on the state, but in my state is is based ONLY on registered weight. ANY vehicle licensed over a certain weight must stop.

    Our e-logs don't show PC miles as miles driven but they are recorded. If we drive over 100 miles PC we hear about it.
